The Horn of David
“There I will make the horn of David grow; I will prepare a lamp for My Anointed” (Psalm 132.17 NKJV).
The horn is symbolic of strength. This strength can be used in alignment with God (for good) or in alignment with ourselves (for evil). Prophets in the Bible would use a horn to store anointing oil. When God was about to move His Spirit within a person, he was anointed with the oil from the horn. The oil represents the Holy Spirit being poured out onto their lives. Today our Horn of Strength is Jesus Christ. He died, was buried and rose again, so He could take the sting of death from all who accept Him. Jesus ascended, so that the Holy Spirit could be poured out onto the world. This great anointing shows us today that God Spirit is moving within the lives of His people. The flow of oil is free and abundant to anyone who carries the Horn of David within their hearts. The horn was also used as an instrument of declaring that God is fighting on our behalf (Nehemiah 4.20). When we declare the victory of Jesus to the world, we will find ourselves surrounded by God’s mighty and victorious Spirit. Click To Tweet We can overcome all obstacles because the Horn of David is with us, fighting on our behalf. So carry the Horn, so you will have the outpour of the Holy Spirit and the strength of God by your side.
“And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him” (Acts 10.38 NLT).
