After filming with the Botched team, we were able to do a little sight seeing. We walked about a forty minutes from the filming location to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This day was filled with special memories because my twin sister, Christina, was only a few days away from her surgery and lengthy recovery, but now we could actually act like tourist. She had been working non-stop for years, and this was her first “vacation” in a long while.
I am proud of my sister. She could have let her impending reconstructive nose surgery (where they would actually crack and take a piece of her rib) rob her of this amazing day. But instead of fretting and worrying about the future, she lived in the now and enjoyed the sweet moments we shared. We walked, people watched, looked at the stars on the walk of fame, ate lunch and savored cappuccinos. We completely forgot that we were in California because of a reality tv show. We were just two sisters on vacation in sunny California!
My sister’s actions remind us all to not let worry of tomorrow rob us of the beauty of today! I write all about our Botched Adventures in my book, Following God Across the Page. You can win a signed copy (signed by Christina and me) on May 25th. Click the link below to enter. To hear the whole story, watch our Interview with Teresa Ann!
