“These things say He who is holy, He who is true, ‘He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens: I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name’” (Revelation 3.7-8 NKJV).
As a Christian, there is one thing that will open the mighty will of God in our lives. This one thing allows us access to God and promotes us to His children, and it gives us the right as heirs to the Royal Throne, unleashing God’s great promises for us. This one thing is the Key of David—Jesus Christ Himself. Once we realize that everything is possible through the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, nothing will be impossible for us (Ephesians 1.19-20). We will cling tightly to this Key, knowing that He is the Way to achieving our destiny. Our strength, resources, abilities and talents will never measure up to the promises that God has for us. We must learn to submit all that we have and all that we are to Jesus, trusting that He is Who opens doors that no one and nothing can shut. When we finally understand how to grasp the Key of David, we may have little strength left. The road to relying solely on Jesus is long, difficult and lonely. But Jesus knows our struggles, and He knows that we have persevered, holding tightly to His Word, His Promises and His Name. And even though our promises seem dead in the natural, He will come soon and resurrect what is dead in the supernatural. Finally, we will be awarded the victor’s crown, because we never gave up on faith and the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
“I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown” (Revelation 3.11 NIV).
