Never Give Up
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6.9).
God’s timing is not our own, and His ways are not our ways. This becomes apparent as we work in accordance to the Holy Spirit. We may work diligently for the Lord and not reap a harvest at the time we expect it to come. Our earthly minds don’t match up with God’s divine mind. In fact, a lot of God’s ways make no sense in the natural. Many times we have to pour out our faith and trust in situations that seem to be dry and dead. But the truth is that God will never lead us into the wilderness without providing for us supernaturally while we are there. God purposefully draws us into the desert, so we can learn to rely on Him as He fills us with His understanding, wisdom and provision. Having faith in a harvest when the land is barren takes great faith, and a Christian who can wield such faith in God’s promises when all circumstances are hopeless is making a choice to grow in the Lord. The influences of the world become faint when we look through the eyes of faith and hold onto hope without becoming dismayed or bitter. We don’t have to lose our hope because we can trust that “we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” God will come through for us and He will finish the good work He started in us!
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (Philippians 1.6 NLT).
