This email is written by a friend, and fellow author, whom I admire and respect. Her walk of faith is many years beyond mine, and she is a godly role model for my life.
I wanted to share her words about my book, Eve of Awakening. Thank you, Susan Wood, for believing in me!
I am compelled to write to you this morning and tell you how wonderful your book is!!!
Your sister gave me your book a few weeks ago, but I am right in the middle of an awesome book, The Shack Revisited, which is a theological study of the book, The Shack. It is so good, but once I had your book in my hands I was so torn. I was dying to start your book but wanted to finish the book I was reading.
The Shack Revisited is on my Nook and when I picked up my Nook the other day, the battery was completely dead. I looked at your book there on my nightstand and was overcome with intrigue, wondering what it is about.
Needless to say, I began reading the book and I’m captivated by the story!! I’m up to chapter 6. It is so well written, and the concepts are truly brilliant. The plot is complex and pulls me right in, and you did a great job creating the characters. Even though they are futuristic, I can see the real soul hiding underneath the “system” that was created for them to exist in.
The theme of the book is really ingenious and I love the things you created like the LPS and the Sleeper – how brilliant Alisa! And I love the undercurrent of the longing of each soul for love and something real in their lives.
The book gives a picture of where our society could be heading if we keep going like this. Of course I hope it doesn’t happen. But this generation is so distracted and in such a darn rush.
I love the important message I see unfolding in your story Alisa and wish I could just sit down and read the entire book non stop with a pot of coffee. I will highly recommend your book to everyone I know and will see you tomorrow at your book release event.
