“So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you!” (Hebrews 10.35 NLT).
When the main producer of my CMT MADE show called me, he sounded nervous. He told me that he had bad news: My show wouldn’t be airing. Not enough people caught onto the first five episodes, so CMT was pulling the plug on the entire series. Though the news surprised me because I didn’t know networks could pull shows mid-season, I wasn’t upset. I’ve been walking with the Lord long enough to never plan on normal. Though my show didn’t air on national TV, it doesn’t change the fact that I invested a great amount of money, time, energy, resources and faith into it. Everything that I and those around me gave to the show will not just fizzle and disappear. The Bible is very clear that we will reap a harvest from what we sow (Galatians 6.7-8). I must stay confident that all of my work will have a beautiful effect on the Kingdom of God. Although I am disappointed that others will not get to watch me transform into a MMA fighter, I am really excited to see what God does. God is always faithful, and I hold Him to His promises.
God, I know that You see all of my hard work and sacrifice, and I believe my obedience wasn’t done in vain. I give my crop over to Your care because I trust that You will multiply my harvest according to Your timetable and abundance. Thank You for caring so much about my life and purpose that You take matters into Your own hands. I know that my dead-ends are a part of Your plan because You are growing a generous crop in me. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
