“Good comes from a good man because of the riches he has in his heart. Sin comes from a sinful man because of the sin he has in his heart. The mouth speaks of what the heart is full of” (Luke 6.45 NLV).
While filming for my reality show, I had to do a lot of interviews. It seemed that the interviews took up just as much time as my MMA training did. During my intimate camera chats, I almost always talked about God. I didn’t have to force my faith-talks for the camera because I pulled from the thoughts that were already stored up in my heart. My twin sister told the camera in one of her interviews, “Alisa talks about God a lot, and it doesn’t matter who she is talking to.” There was once a time in my life when I was scared to talk about God. When I saw an opportunity to share my faith, I would get uncomfortable and embarrassed. I felt out of sorts telling others about my relationship with Christ. But since I’ve set my heart on knowing Him and reading His Word, I can’t help but talk about God and my faith if I find an audience that is willing to listen. As Christians, we must store up God’s truth in our hearts. We need to spend time talking to God through prayer, meditating on what the Holy Spirit is teaching us and reading God’s Truth in the Bible. When we begin to fill our minds and hearts with God; His wisdom, grace and mercy will pour easily from our lips.
God, I want to discuss my relationship with You like I discuss all the other details of my life. Teach me Your amazing mysteries and wisdom, so the world will long for what I communicate. Fill me so completely with the Holy Spirit that my thoughts, actions and words overflow with Your presence and truth. Let the world see my passion for all things eternal, so that they too will find the love, joy, hope and salvation that I have in Christ. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
