“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” (1 Corinthians 3.16 NIV)
When I first met my female MMA trainer, Jessica, she wanted to know everything about me. She asked me a ton of questions and in turn revealed much about herself. She invited my husband and me out to dinner, and she came to our home so she could visit with my family. She wanted to meet everyone, and she went out of her way to have individual time with each person. I was surprised by her eagerness to make friends because she would only be with us for a short time. She willingly connected with my family members, other MMA fighters, CMT producers and people from my church. It didn’t matter their age, profession, gender or ethnicity; if they were in her path, she would introduce herself. It was obvious she placed great value in people and relationships. I learned a lot from watching Jessica. I realized that when God puts people in my life – no matter who they are or how long they are there – He wants to touch them through me. If God’s Spirit lives in me, He will use me to share His love, mercy and favor to His beloved people.
God, I know that there are no coincidences. You have mapped out who and when people will come in and out of my life. I don’t want to miss an opportunity to reach out to others, and I trust that You will guide my actions and words. Help me to always be ready to introduce myself when Your Spirit has arranged a divine appointment. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
