Love of Christ
“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God” (Ephesians 3.19 NLT).
We like to talk about God’s power in our lives, but we sometimes miss where that power comes from. “The fullness of life and power…from God” is rooted in experiencing the “love of Christ.” Though we will never understand Jesus’ love in its fullness, we can gain strength from knowing that His love for us is so amazing and vast that it is beyond our comprehension. Jesus’ love for us establishes God’s expansive power in our lives. Jesus loves us so much that He not only died for our sins, but He also died to give us His power, strength and authority. That is the basic principle: fall in love with Jesus more everyday and gain more of God’s “life and power” everyday. If we truly want to be Kingdom Builders and World Changers, our first priority should always be loving Jesus by getting to know Him more through Bible reading, prayer and meditating on Him. We don’t have to worry about being strong enough or good enough—we simply need to trust and obey out of love. Once our love for Jesus becomes unshakeable, God can use us and our lives to do great and mighty things for His Kingdom.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father” (John 14.12 ESV).
