“I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ” (Philemon 1.6 NIV).
We can have a variety a partnerships in life—a marriage, friendships, business partner, co-workers, church leaders, etc.—and these partnerships are either moving us forward in our faith or causing us to stumble in our faith. Life is very short, and we must look at every single partnership in which we are committed. We have to ask ourselves if the partnership is drawing us closer to the Lord and our purpose or is it dividing us from God and our destiny. We are each on a journey, following a Living God who is always moving and working His Kingdom Plan to fruition. If we get caught up with the slow movers around us, we will eventually fall behind. Of course, it is right to stop and help people who stumble along the way, but we must not allow ourselves to get so sidetracked that we lose sight of Jesus. We can trust that although Jesus is moving, He is still able to gather those who have fallen and are calling out to Him. We can lead by example, helping those around us but never losing sight of Jesus and the call He has placed on our lives. Then we can partner up with individuals who God uses to deepen our faith and understanding of His goodness and love.
“But Jesus replied, ‘My Father is always working, and so am I’” (John 5.17 NLT).
