“So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do” (2 Thessalonians 1.11 NLT).
When God calls us to live according to His call, He will “enable” us and give us the “power to accomplish all the good things” prompted by our faith. We are not alone. If God plants faith in us to do something for Him, He will ensure that we have the strength, ability and resources that we need. We must not focus on our circumstances or ourselves because they will almost always display a lack of strength, a lack of resources and a lack of ability. Instead we can move on faith, believing God’s promise to provide for us to achieve His will. God sees what we cannot see, and He can shift things into our favor, but we must trust Him. We need to have more faith in His Word than we do in this world. We need to rely on His strength in us and not the strength of others or ourselves. God will give us the power we need to achieve anything our faith declares as part of our victory. A “life worthy of his call” is a life that believes God can and will accomplish His good work in us. We simply must grab onto the power that is rightfully ours as children of God co-heirs with Jesus Christ and believe in the promises God has ordained for us before time began.
“Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory” (Romans 8.17 NIV).
