“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4.19 NLT).
As Christians, we may grow so accustomed to having an intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross that we forget one very important fact: God is the richest, most powerful, most loving and most influential Figure in the universe. We think we understand God and we water down His impact on our lives because He has become too familiar in our limited understanding. And although God condescended Himself as baby in a manger through the person of Jesus Christ and lowered Himself into our flesh so He could have a relationship with us, He is still the Creator, Owner and Master of all that is natural, supernatural and everything in-between and beyond human thought. Everything is under God’s authority. We may have free will now, but eventually every knee will bow before the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Romans 14.11). If God is this rich, powerful and influential, shouldn’t we trust Him to meet all our needs—not according to what we deserve, but according to His glorious riches. We never have to worry about God not coming through for us. We simply need to match our faith to what we know is true from the Bible. God will “graciously give us all things” we need to accomplish His will.
“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8.32 NIV).
