“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Ephesians 4.4-6 NKJV).
Whatever clever and beautiful arguments people make about faith, there is only One hope, and that is through the Name and Person of Jesus Christ. Many people will implement their own understanding into God’s mystery about the One and try to rewrite what God has established. They will divide the One Truth, into many truths to satisfy their need for human control and understanding. But the fact remains: there is only One body of Christ, which is the Church. There is only One Spirit in that Church, which is God’s Holy Spirit. There is only One hope, which is our salvation and reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ. There is only One Lord, and every knee will bow before His presence and confess that He is Lord (Romans 14.11). We have One faith, One baptism, One God, One Father who reigns in and over all of us. Jesus is the only Way. Jesus is the only Truth. Jesus is the only Life. Anything else is a human counterfeit. If we miss out on Jesus, we miss out on everything. There is only One.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me’” (John 14.6 NIV).
