I’ve don’t really discuss a lot about fitness and health on my blog. I’ve spent years getting to know God and who I am in Christ as a writer. I developed my writing ability, and as I struggled to communicate my thoughts with truth and love, I discovered just how much God had to mold and shape me into a new creation. I wasn’t born a writer in the natural, so God had to do a supernatural work in my life.
However, fitness and health have always come easily to me. I wanted to double major in English and Kinesiology when I was in college, but God wisely had me choose English. He knew that becoming a writer would take me on a very long and difficult journey. I might have given up early if I had been allowed to fully embrace an area that I already excelled in and enjoyed.
So while I spent years writing for God, I continued to exercise and implement healthy lifestyle choices in my life and the lives of my family. I’m definitely not a health-nut (I like dessert and pizza just like anyone), but I do enjoy the benefits of having a balanced lifestyle. I know from personal experience and from talking with other women that our body image dictates much of our confidence in all areas of life.
So for the next three months, God has allowed me to delve into the realm of fitness and health! I have accepted a personal challenge to compete in a fitness competition. I have a trusted friend and personal trainer coaching me for the first several weeks, and I look forward to learning as much as I can about fitness and health! I will be writing about my journey and how we are ALL qualified in Christ!
We will never be good enough to do the great things God has planned for us, but Jesus will always be MORE than enough in each of our lives. We are qualified based on the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. If we put our hope in our strength alone, we will never make it. But when we rely on God’s strength, we have everything we need to succeed for His glory.
Please join me as I rain for three month to honor God. It’s not just about fitness and health–it’s about facing a challenge dead on and claiming victory in Christ!
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4.19 NIV).
