“Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight. And consider that this nation is Your people” (Exodus 33.13 NKJV).
The one thing that will cause you to cling onto God the most is committing to a task that is way beyond your scope of talent, ability and understanding. God asked Moses to prepare the entire nation of Israel – composed of millions of people – for their Promise Land. Talk about daunting! Moses knew that he was inadequate to get the job done. Not only did he ask God for some reassurance and assistance, he also reminded God that these people were His people. God gives all of His children a purpose that they could never achieve alone, so they will learn to lean on Him and grow into the image of Christ. God cares about the fruition of His Kingdom and all of His people; and because of His great love, He wants to give each of us a chance to make an eternal difference. He doesn’t need our ability, talent or understanding; He simply needs our obedience. If God is sending you on a journey that scares you to death, you are in good company. Now, let go of your excuses and take a blind leap of faith. Trust that God will accomplish His purpose through you, and don’t let fear stop you from your destiny.
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’” (Jeremiah 29.11 NIV).
